Free Flu Vaccinations

Free yearly flu vaccinations for patients who are 65 years and over are now available. Influenza immunisation is recommended for any patient that has a chronic disease. Contact the Medical Centre to make an appointment.

A Doctor from either the Yarram Medical Centre or Dr Iain McConachie’s practice is rostered on duty to provide 24 hours on call service for urgent medical treatment outside the clinic hours please contact the staff at Yarram and District Health Service – 5182 0222. Please note that an after hours consultation fee will be charged.

Philosophy

The doctors and practice staff at Yarram Medical Centre are committed to delivering high quality medical care to individuals and families of the Yarram and district community. Procedures include (but not exclusive to): small surgical procedures (lumps and bumps), pap smears, patient education, health promotion, lung clinic, plasters and ECG.

Our aim is to assist our patients to attain and maintain the highest level of health by providing the best possible medical care.

Yarram Medical Centre has shared location with the Yarram and District Health Service (YDHS). Its affiliation with YDHS ensures full access to a comprehensive range of services, many of which are located alongside the medical practice. These include an Allied Health department with physio and occupational therapy and speech pathology services and visiting dietician. Welfare, counselling, district nursing and maternal and child care services are also on site. See Site Map for location details.

At the Medical Centre there is a visiting: surgeon, physician, paediatrician, female GP (Royal Flying Doctors Service Women's Health Program). Contact the Medical Centre for an appointment.

Dr Iain McConachie, Principal of the King Street Clinic has attended to the Yarram community’s medical needs from his private practice for over two decades. He is a Visiting Medical Officer to the Yarram & District Health Service and participates in the oncall roster with the Yarram Medical Centre GPs. Dr McConachie attends regular meetings with YDHS personnel including those held for YDHS Medical Officers & Senior Staff and Director of Medical Services’ meeting for Visiting Medical Officers.

Dr Iain McConachie’s private practice is located within 1 km of the Yarram Medical Centre at 6 King Street, Yarram.
