 Koorooman House Opening
Gippsland Southern Health Service’s state of the art 36 bed residential aged care facility, Koorooman House, was officially opened by Mr Matt Viney MLC on May 21.
The $9.5 million facility has provided a massive upgrade for residents and staff, bringing together the best living facilities, the latest technology and environmentally sustainable design features.
The facility features single rooms for all residents, most with ensuites, an impressive home theatre, a huge activities room, and a fantastic kitchen and dining room.
During his official address to the large crowd in attendance, Mr Viney noted the improvements on the old building, including the addition of a further four beds, and in particular the environmental and energy saving features.

Created as a result of the amalgamation of Korumburra District Hospital and Woorayl and District Hospital a decade ago,Gippsland Southern Health Service provides a comprehensive range of Specialist General, Acute, Aged and Residential, Allied Health and Community Services to the residents of the Shire of South Gippsland.
Gippsland Southern Health Service is funded primarily through the Victorian Department of Human Services and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. It operates under the direction of the Minister for Health, Minister for Aged Care state-wide and nationally the Minister for Health and the Minister for Ageing.
