Leongatha Hospital Rebuild Update - 17.7.08

The rain has stopped after a couple of weeks of poor weather and the building works continues to progress well. The north wing has the plasterers almost finished with sanding and undercoat being applied already. The sample room is painted and will be ready for viewing on Monday 28th for the staff walk through. These will be conducted at 7:30am, 10:30am and 2:30pm and give Staff, able residents and the Board a chance to see what is happening within the walls of the building. This will be the only chance before the building is completed for staff to view the interior.

The mechanical services people have all the air handling units installed in the rooms and the ductwork from each room ready to connect to the external heat exchangers. This will preheat the incoming air using heat from the exhaust air and save energy in the operation in colder months. The roof units will be hidden behind the parapet walls in the centre of the bedroom wings.
