Supportive Care Directory
Supportive Care Directory

Supportive care is a term which describes all services that may be required to support people with cancer. Cancer patients may require supportive care at diagnosis and throughout their treatment trajectory, as well as at subsequent follow up and/or disease recurrence. A number of health care practitioners and services are required to meet the supportive care needs of cancer patients. This directory lists a range of supportive care practitioners and services that are located across Gippsland.

Now What...? Dealing with your parent's cancer - B
Mother's Day 2008 youth cancer charity CanTeen launched a new resource called "Now What...? Dealing with your parent's cancer". The 92 page book is avaiable FREE to young people aged 12-24 who have a parent diagnosed with cancer. There is also an online version.

This innovative resource is one of the responses to the research findings into the needs of offspring. The research shows that this group of young people has significant unmet needs associated with their experience. There exists very little in the way of written resources, that are appropriate for, or appealing to this group.

The book provides information, practical tips, support and advice across a whole range of areas that impact on a young person who has a parent living with cancer.

The book is available FREE to any young person, aged 12 to 24 years old, who has a parent diagnosed with cancer.

To order a copy of "Now What ..?" simply call 1800 669 942 or SMS 0420 363 189 or log onto www.nowwhat.org.au
