This session will focus on:
• Plenary guardianship: legal framework and implications for clinicians
• Categories of powers of attorney: medical, financial, end-of-life and lifestyle aspects, definitions and how it applies to the medical context
• Role of the plenary guardian, ITOs, patient-hospital processes and dispute resolution
• Working with patients/ clients to ensure dignity of choice, to accommodate cultural context
• Dealing with tensions in the professional’s duty of care

| GRICS Scholarship letterGRICS Scholarship Program 2010/2011 GuidelinesGRICS Scholarship Program 2010/2011 Application form | GRICS Scholarship Program 2010/2011 As a result of the success of the GRICS Scholarship Program 2010 and discussions between members of the GRICS team, and Gippsland stakeholders, the GRICS Governance Group has supported the continuation of the GRICS Scholarship Program 2010/2011.
All medical, nursing and allied health staff from the Gippsland region, who are currently working with patients diagnosed with cancer, can apply for up to $3000 in scholarship funding from GRICS, to;
ć Attend a cancer related conference;
ć Undertake cancer related study 2010;
ć Undertake a mentoring placement at either a metropolitan hospital or regional specialist centre (eg., Latrobe Regional Hospital);
ć Conduct cancer specific action research within their health service.

Why? and How? of evidence based practice. It will be delivered
over three, two hour group sessions including a practical computer
search session. It includes an additional hour of personal mentoring
from Monash research staff who will assist each participant with
applying ongoing searches to their current practice. |
